Paint job a few hit and miss questions
I got my car repainted at a dealer thinking they would do that amazing job since it's the best dealer out here.
I have seen way more damage then I would liked to see.
Hood misaligned
front and rear bumper misaligned
tint riped off and needs to be re-tinted
headlight and fog light misaligned
clearcoat overspray on the Z06 chromies
overspray in fender wells
overspray on my dashboard or I think it's just some dust not sure yet
overspray on the rubber between trunk lid and rear window. (in the gap there is a rubber)
plus the paint is not perfect it has some pimples here and there and you can tell it's been repainted
This is at a dealer for insurance work at the same time. The insurance cannot garantee their work since it's a dealer I selected. They told me to write down everything on the car and afterwards when the paint cured (3 weeks) to come and everything will be fixed out. Could I get my car realigned at least before that time or do I really have to wait for the paint to cure?

99% of the shops out there are gonna give your car back with junk in the paint
generally, you will have to pay extra for that to be corrected, if it can
but yeah, bring it back and bitch. Sounds like they got some winners there

3 weeks for the paint to cure?? Guess they didn't spray this in a booth... If the car has that many problems, you shouldn't of accepted the car until it was finished to your satisfaction. Take it back ASAP and show them all of the problems. If the are reputable, they will do you right.

sounds like the dealer is just trying to put you off. it doesnt take that long for them to take care of any of those things. the only thing you cant do right away is wax it. the paint is ready to be buffed the day after paint, as long as it was sprayed inside a booth. you should have all the misalignments and overspray problems taken care of right away.

Maybe they wanted to avoid scratches since the paint isn't fully cured it might be easier to actually damage it? I really don't want to mess it up and **** the finish. I am scared myself by actually scratching it now since the finish might be too fragile. How long does it take for the paint to be fully tough like usual? I think I will drop it off on tuesday and ask them to fix all the issues with it and wait before to actually polish it.
