Default Painting my car flat black?

Wonder how much somewhere would charge to paint a car COMPLETELY flat black....I think it would look bad *** with some gloss black wheels.

I also think it wouldnt cost nearly as much as a regular paint job.

Thoughts?

The "Rat Rod" look is pretty cool looking. I've haven't seen it done to a late model car though. I don't think I would have the guts to do it to my car.

Would be pretty intresting to see. I've seen it done to the new colorado and looked pretty badass. I know someone had this idea a while back... could have sworn I even seen a picture. Try doing a search on this.

I've seen it done before on a third gen. Looked redneck to say the least. But you can just spray paint scratches out no problem.

Looks good on VW Bugs and old hot rods, but not on a 4th gen Camaro!

I had a friend who did that to his old Bug.... of course the next week he hand painted the whole car to be an american flag and nailed a shoe to the dashboard as a cup holder.

My bug is camoflauge flat gray. I like it when it's running. If only it had about 700 more CCs, though.

I have been wondering about this also. Flat Black and my Torque Thrust II Classic wheels might look killer. What would Flat Black look like with a couple coats of clear over it??? Dull paint color that reflects light

I think Flat Black with black satin or black gloss flames would look awesome if it was a top notch quality job

I am thinking paint the entire car with a few coats of Flat Black, then add a wide single stripe up the center of the car like the early 1970's Super Duty cars. Make the stripe either Gloss Black with a Gloss Black 3/8" border stripe, or Gunmetal Gray Stripe with the Gloss Black 3/8" border stripe. That would look killer with my Torque Thrust Classic wheels I think!

You could just do it with a rattle can and go over it with some steelwool. I have seen some nice "Suede" paint jobs. The best I have seen used a flat clearcoat. If you do it in black it will look like the whole car is primered tho.

Do it right and add some red pinstripe flames. I would give you mad props as making the most bitchin', ballsiest move in LS1 history.
My project LS1-powered '56 Cadillac will be black, cleared suede but I would love to see it on a 4th gen done right.

[b]i Say Go For It !!!!!! Cause It's Unique And Different To Say The Least It,s In Back W/ The Street Rods At The Rodruns & Carshows. And To Do It To A 4th Gen Car I Think Would Look Coooool! And I Think The Black Wheels Would Add To The Look Sorta Sneaky, speed, Mischevious Look I Think I Know I Seen Some Rods That Looked Sweet W/ The Flat Black Look. Hey You Got My Vote If It Counts!
