paint protection during transport

A friend of mine is having his custom built rod shipped across the country on an open car trailer. The paint is show quality and he wants to avoid any damage to the finish while in transport (from rocks, debris, bugs, acid rain)
Does anyone know where someone can get ahold of that plastic film that manufacturers cover their new cars with during transport?
All I can find info on is the invisible bra stuff, but that's intended to be semi-permanent and not intended to cover the whole car.

I would just pay to have it shipped in an enclosed trailor if the paint is worth so much.

Call a dealer autobody shop and see if they can get you that film.

No kidding...enclosed would be my only option.

Thanks for the replies. Enclosed isn't an option here because he had the same shop build him the open trailer as well as the tow vehicle. They are all going to be delivered as a unit. The open trailer does have a front deflector and the bottom isn't open to the ground.
He wasn't really concerned about the trip until I started asking him about protecting the paint across the country. That's when he started wondering if he could obtain that slick covering the mfgrs use.

I'll probably follow up with a body shop as suggested. It's just a lot more convenient to email the builder in CA and point him to a URL where he can order the stuff.

I have seen open trailor's that have a shield for protection he should try getting one of those.

Yes, his trailer has one of those shields on the front end.
