Shouldn't be a problem at all.

I want to do the whole scoop like the ZL1 camaro. But I heard that the decal has some trouble installing. I would rather have a decal than paint the think. But I might have to pain it.

Indeed, the vinyl is hard to apply. If you order it from thirdgendecals, I believe they send you two of them, in case you mess one up applying it the first time.

You can do the decals, but they're very hard to apply and often even professionals end up screwing both of them up. The decal has compound curves to fit the hood and apparently is extremely hard to put on without getting all sorts of wrinkles and funky lines.

I had mine painted and it looks great. I love how it shines and just has that gloss black look.

Would the scoop being black make the whole hood look darker than the rest of the car. Because as it is the body shop had a hard time blending the hood to the fender's. The front of the car is slightly darker than the rest due to the blending. But all in all you can't really tell. In other word's will the black on the hood make the hood look darker than the fender's. Or am I worried about the wrong thing.

Do it man, it will look great on your SOM Z. If I decide on an SS hood rather than the ultra z, I am going to paint it like that too. If I go with the ultra z the stripes will be like the ones in the attached pic, but solid black.

edso1ss did you have them paint the thin pin stripe around it as well ? I too have been pondering on this and since my hood has to be repainted thanks to a dump truck i was gonna fork out a bit more for them to do it. How much did it cost you about?
