Someone please make a different hood for T/A's!

ok....Id REALLY like to see someone step up and make a damn different hood for 4th gen Trans am's. All I see are ws6 hoods or firehawk ones. Someone out there has to make somethin different. Id Like to see how many people agree and see if one of these sponsors here will or not :bang:

NO SHIT!!! Somebody out there ought to be able to come up with something new. I think a shaker hood would look cool.

Is that not just a factory hood with a hole cut out? Now that I think about it, all you need to do is figure out how to secure a 70's model shaker hood scoop to the engine. Somebody out there should have some ideas. Anyone?

D Rock Jan 5, 2005 07:27 PM

Thats all it looks like. But how many guys have the balls to just cut a hole in their hood not knowing how it will look as a finished product and what not.

blu98ta Jan 5, 2005 07:32 PM

Can someone photoshop this onto a stock car?

5POINT7 Jan 5, 2005 07:42 PM

That's not a factory hood guys. There aren't any nostrils in the front.

That Bird reminds me of the Harrell Camaro...look at the spoiler.

The bumper is where the nostrils are, and that is not a factory bumper. I personally don't like that bumper.

Yes, that is a factory hood. You can buy the scoop from a 70s Trans Am parts catalog, like from Year One. Then, cut the hood, and permanently fix that scoop in place. It wouldn't have to be functional to be cool looking.

I think the reason the firebird does not have as many options as the camaro, is because of the nose. With big nostrils in the nose, many hoods just will not look right. The hood may look good, but you don't just sit the hood on a table in the garage when you buy it. A good looking hood is one thing , WILL IT LOOK GOOD ON THE CAR ? I think many comapnies know, or consider this when designing hoods for a given car.

Someone needs to make a front end like the one in that picture first. Cowl hoods, shaker hoods , etc will probably look better with no nostrils on the nose .

The 93-97 firebirds for example have an aftermarket shaker hood, and it actually looks nice, but they don't have nostrils in the nose.

blu98ta Jan 5, 2005 08:55 PM

Can someone photoshop a shaker hood onto a ta with the factory bumper? I wanna see what it would look like!!

camar0guy Jan 5, 2005 09:11 PM

u can get a stock hood on ebay pretty cheap...cut it,,...and if it ends ur looking retarede, trash it...

UGotBeaT Jan 5, 2005 10:03 PM

that shaker hood looks alright woudlnt really wanna have to buy a front bumper just for the hood. I know someone out there has an idea for a hood that would look pretty decent. One of the sponsors need to reply!

libertine1015 Jan 5, 2005 10:26 PM

People cant give away stock hoods, i would sell mine but i would never try to ship that big bastard too much of a PITA.

I like the side vents on the heritage as well.
