Polishing Metal

can someone help me, i suck at it, i cant get it to shine like a mirror at all, i sanded starting at 220 all the way to 2000 and its dull still when i put the blue magic polish on it, help someone

Are you using a buffing wheel on a grinder or something? I know it takes some practice but it should atleast shine a little bit.

i start out with 220 and sand to 1000 then wetsand to 2000, then use tripoli compound on a drill pad, then bule magic polish, and its sooo dull

What are you trying to polish?

if it isn't stainless or aluminum you might just be spinning your wheels

A/C accumulator, MAF ends, AC lines, it reflects but it really dull

Try using white rouge compound then blue magic I didn't have to sand my ac parts at all I just used white rouge. I haven't done my Maf ends yet though.

i would not have used any sandpaper at all on those particular items..there already smooth. you are going to need a rooghe (spelling) for sure. Or try using motheres billet.

After the tripoli, I would definitely use white rouge. You may want to use the tripoli for awhile longer, because most of my stuff shines up pretty well after it. I also use Mother's billet polish now, and it seems to be a bit better than the regular Mother's. I haven't had any experience with the Blue Magic, though.
