Default Trimming Fiberglass

What if any structural support do the pieces of fiberglass that cross the nostrils of a ws6 hood have? Is there anything special about the SLP H.O. hood that eliminates the need for them? I'm thinking of purchasing a ws9 hood from roger and cutting those two cross pieces out, is there anything wrong with this if done properly by a bodyshop?

theres no extra support i dont think. you should be fine. my guess is gm just took the stock hood, and pretty much layed the nostrils down on it. where as slp just fabbed up a whole new hood without the lines in the nostrils

you should be fine... i asked this question before... and i believe everyone here that the hood is strong enough.... i also plan to make some heat extractors near the windshield for more functionality...
