Tried putting hood decal on. SUCK!!
I bought a set of decals from 3rdgendecals and tried to put the first SS hood decal on today. What a major pain in the ***! The bubbles weren't such a problem, it was the creases in the vinyl that would happen if you tried to squeegie them out. I even used some professional spray that I bought from a decal shop to apply them.
Needless to say, it came out looking like ****. I guess I was never meant to be a ricer, because I suck at putting decals on a car.
Probably have it painted on, I don't want to try the 2nd one they supplied.

do you mean the stinger style ones???
I'm a pro and I couldn't even get them on our friend BlaSSt's car. Tim ended up painting them on for him. The scoop has just too much curve to it.
See ya Sunday

Yup, I didn't even really think about using those decals when I wanted my scoop done. I heard they were just too much of a pain in the ***. So I went with paint and never looked back, I wouldn't have it any other way now.

Teri, I'd like them painted exactly like BlaSSt's car. Could you PM me a price?

When I work with vinyl at work, I'll spray the surface, then lay the vinyl piece down, then spray the transfer tape like holy hell, position it and let it sit for 5-10 minutes or so, then very lightly squeegie some of the waterout, making sure its perfect, then go back with an actual sqeegie, or yellow bondo spreader and work the rest out, let it sit for a little while again, then remove the transfer tap.

I used just an alcohol/water solution on my Blackbird stripes and it worked well ---I taped my stripes down before I wet the area and it made it easier to squeeze the water out

Tony I know how you feel. The 1st time I put on a set of decals on the car They didn't come out good at all. The second set I did I did a lot better. The trick for me was to let the decal sit after I got it where i wanted it. I let the sun evaporate some of the solution. Once I felt it was dry enough I squeegied the water out. I waited so the decal wouldn't float around and move while I was working. Worked a lot better. After 3 sets of decals I've gotten a lot better at it
