Very good job. |
Very nice! :thumb: |
Cherrries! What engine are you putting in? LT1,LT4, *LS1* |
Looks good man, so what motor is going in? |
Nice! |
Looks great. |
Dont scratch it putting everything back it! That looks amazing. |
Everything will be assembled and the car will be lowered onto it, the only things I'll need to do is hook up the harness fuel lines, brake lines, and top off the coolant!!! Gonna do EVERYTHING outside of the car.. Since I have access to the lift.. 396 LT1, AFR 227 heads, fully CNC'd LT4 Intake form Lingenfelter, Monoblade...flow number snad what not Desktop Dyno is saying 643 Flywheel HP... Thanks for the compliments guys!!! Anyone find the fuel line hole yet? |
pics are to dark to find a butthole, much less a fuel line hole |
I think we all want to know which power plant is going in? |
he already said.... on another note...where are the pics from the targa conversion??????? |
They are well on their way, sorry guys got held up at the Unadilla National Motocross this weekend, and got in late, I'm gonna be workin on it today, and hopefully get pics up within the next day or so, here'a sneak peak, after the rough cuts were made...after welding the cage in so bare with me on the ugly cage it'll be cleaned up and show quality in the next set of pics... Finished cuts, as well as primer will be the next pics... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...k/CagePass.jpg |
and as for the comments of the pics being too dark, here are some pics that are easier to see...Outside under the sun instead of Halogen shop lights, so now can you play FIND THE FUEL LINE HOLE... https://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1...rk/Paint14.jpg https://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1...rk/Paint15.jpg https://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1...rk/Paint16.jpg https://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1...rk/Paint17.jpg https://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1...rk/Paint18.jpg |
looks great!!!!!! .....what kind of paint did you use.....high temp? clear coat..how many coats? |
It was ppg base coat clear coat. With 2 coats of black and 2 coats of clear. We didn't use any high temp paint for the engine bay. Ryan has came along way with his car. It will be quite impressive when finished. |
Awww thanks Adam lol...Adam's been a great deal of help for me with this project!! Can't wait to see his Hawk up and running... |
awesome! |
Hey ryan, its looking good. I had a question though...with cutting the entire roof off like that, why didn't you choose to put a full cage in so that if you ever did happen to flip the car or something you would actually have a cage over your head to support the roof from crashing on you? Seems like the windshield would fold right up with no support on it any more. You plan on latching the targa using t top mounts right? or has that changed now? |
Yea it will utilize the T-Top latches, look over the weekend if everything goes well I will have a DETAILED thread, and tons of pics of the process...Hell I would be willing to help other people that want the mod, for the right price... |
haha for the right price..i remember when you first had that idea and wanted me to do it way back when lol |
Ya since then I've done research, planned, and engineered everything...I'm just willin to actually help, and do the mod for people unlike someone esle that's Targa Topped... |
who else is targa top? I only new of one guy that has it but that cars totalled now. |
Very nice work! |
Looks very nice. Are you repainting the outside of the car or did you just paint the engine bay black to do it? Depending on what that price is, you're only in Illinois. Not too far away. A targa top conversion would be something I'd be interested in depending on pricing. |
There's a guy on CamaroZ28 named Whistler that has it done, he was the first, but never really wanted to leak any tips, or anything so he would be more rare I believe, I have heard of him talkin to a few people, but I had no luck the 80 times I tried to contact him for info on it...I even offered money... Yes I will be respraying the whole car, after I get this finished, then I will finish fiberglassing that dash this week, and sand all the interior panels down, and hit them with a few coats of DuraTech (High Build Primer) then shoot basecoat/clearcoat on them. After that I will move onto the doors, and get them set up, as I am shaving my antenna, and door handles. Then I will focus on gettin the motor and what not in, then I plan on repainting the car this winter... |
yeah i never knew about that guy. We did one for a close friend but the car ended up getting totalled a few years back and that was the only one i had know about till now. |
