Clay Bar, First Time User, Simply Amazing It is hard to believe how the clay bar latches onto crud in the paint. The first swipe feels like how 400 grit wet sand paper sucks down while sanding. Then, after just 2-4 more passes - silky smooth. That's it. All done. Can do entire car probably in much less than 1 hour. Amazing. Now, if there was only a way to make it "grab" more out of the paint. I wonder if you could use a clay bar with something other than the "lubricant" you are supposed to use. Meguires lube appears to be some kind of final cleanup/refresh product that probably leaves a coating - probably silicone. I suspect you have to clean this stuff off before Zaino, right? Tom PS. I want to try clay on some really bad, oxidized paint and see what happens. |
When I'm out of the lubricant, I use a mix of water and car wash in a spray bottle. When you're done, just re-wash the car, dry, then polish and seal it. -Mike |
I guess I'll have to clean up that "quick detail" stuff before I Z2 it? |
Yes. The Z2 won't adhere as well to that. -Mike |

First time Claybar user here to, as of 4 days ago. Little turtle wax later and bam...The stuff is amazing!! |
We need to find a lubricant where you can go straight to Z2 after claying. Any suggestions? What does Zaino recomment for a preZ2 cleaner? I wonder if you could use that with clay? Actually, I was thinking that you might be able to use clay with just about any product instead of an applicator. I wonder... |
used it too the first time now Im going to tackle the daily driver |
