Default Painting Valve covers...

Do I need to replace the old gaskets when I remove them to paint the covers? My car has about 61k...

Yes, I would never re-use gaskets once there pulled off.

Not so much a PITA, just a little time consuming if you still have the stock coil brackets. They have to come off first which is the hardest part if you have never removed them. There is 1 or 2 bolts near the firewall that are hard to get out(use a gear wrench). Good thing about it is you can simply throw them away and never fool with them again!! AFter the coil brackets are off the valvecovers are a piece of cake. Unhook the PCV hoses and unbolt 8 bolts(if you have centerbolt covers) and lift them off.

nice info, was considering painting them while the car is parked for the intake bore and throttle body p and p....
