As said before, if you use these products correctly, they correct paint defects...not cause more. If you are working by hand, which I assume, you need to look to products like Z-PC, ScratchX, Einszett, etc.

It's time for you to do much more research.

That Z-PC sounded to strong for whats wrong with my paint, will the Z-5 in layers work fine? You cant put ur nail in any of them, the paint looks flawless a few feets away, but if you put your face right up to it you can see fine swirl marks.

If you've never used an abrasive, what makes you think Z-PC is too strong?

It is a swirl remover and/or paint cleaner.

It's likely that Z5 would take many, many coats to make any difference.

If they are fine scratches, then you could probably get away with Final Polish II, but if they are anything considerable, you'll also need Intensive Polish...

Another vote for Menzerna, took all the swirls out of my black 02, it's a DD so it gets alot , but the IP FP2 combo took them all out (even took out the scuff mark caused by some SOB door dinging my car) BTW I also use the Menzerna FMJ for a top coat

I'm assuming that you will be applying the polishes with a Porter Cable...if so, the 16oz should do you just fine...you apply it in very small amounts.

What kind of buffer and pads galore? Have you used it before?

I work in the detail department for Honda. I hate honda's, but i work for them lol. anyway, we have a buffer which I have used numerous times, but we dont have anything like zaino or menzerna, its all bulk, standard wax crap. We have yellow pads, black pads, a white pad, compounding...ive heard the menzerna works better with a buffer then by hand. i would rather do by hand, less mess, but if the wheel is the way to go, alright then.

I tried using the Menzerna by hand once (and only once) just for S&G - way to work intensive, and the results in the area I tried it were no where close to what you get when using the buffer.

I'm using the exact pads (type & color) that are recommended on the site and bought them from that same site...

One item of note is that it's a very good idea to clean the pads after every use, but you probably already know that due to where you work.

I like using the Porter Cable because there is very little (if any) chance of burning thru the paint, and because it is random/orbital instead of just a straight buffer as so many detail shops use, you don't get the unsightly buffer marks all over the car. I had my wife's new Sebring ragtop detailed at the dealer before taking delivery, and ended up having to go over the entire car myself anyway with the Menzerna due to the highly visable 'swirly' buffer marks on every flat surface

Another vote for Menzerna. It works great with a PC 7424. I top it off with Menzerna Show Glaze and BlackFire. Looks great on black.
