Is this possible? Vibe steering wheel conversion?
Would it be possible to put the pontiac vibe steering wheel in to a 2000 trans am? That would be great. very nice lookin, smaller, thicker, and keeps the air bag. plus it would just look GREAT in the car with the way its set up. anyone know if this is doable? some type of adapter or wat?
EDIT: Any other new pontiac steering wheel would be great, the g6 and other models have a similar wheel and its real sharp. So if anyone knows?

Are you aware that the Vibe wheel is found in many Toyotas? I've seen that same wheel in late model Celicas, Matrices, Corollas, Camrys, MR2s, Altezzas, and Supras. Even Lexus uses the same wheel in the IS300, GS300, and GS400, with optional wood grain on the GS cars.
Not dissing your tastes, because I do think it is one of the best OEM airbag wheels to ever come out. Just informing you that putting Toyota parts into a Trans Am asks for a lynching where I live. Not to discourage you, but the airbag systems are completely different and you wouldn't get the airbag to work without investing thousands of $$$ into R&D.

Well i could care less what other cars its in. lol it looks good, and it had a nice big old red pontiac logo on it with an airbag. but if the airbag wont work. then i can cancel that idea.
any other pontiac wheels that would fit? like the gto?
or even the solstice or the g6, those are similar but different to the vibe wheel. i dig em.

streeing wheel
a while back i was woundering the same thing and i asked one this same question on automotive forums and one of my friends on there did the reseach.... yes it will fit with out a problum but its best to let the pontiac dealer do it b/c there certfied to work on air bags so u wont have any problums... and u belife he worked at the dealership..... but who cares if its out of a toyota its still a nice sporty streeing wheel and would add a nice touch to the interior w/o losing your air bag....

I would be suprised if a dealership would touch a project like this.
Dont overwind your clockspring mechanism if you do it yourself and dont forget to disconnect the battery.
