Here's a paint idea.
 

I realize the painted intake idea has been done to death but I ran across some paint and used it on my LS6 intake . It came out so nice that I thought I would share it with you. The best part : it's very cheap to do! I spent under 20.00 to do this.

What you're looking for is Duplicolor Metalcast paint. It's a two step paint but it gives it a candy-like appearance. They say it looks anodized. Whatever you call it , I like it!. First you have to spray it with the silver basecoat , then the colorcoat. I chose blue. The paint can says it is heat resistant which is just what you need for a engine component. I believe you could even lose the base coat on a aluminum part. Paint a light coat , wait 10-15 minutes then paint another coat They had a good selection of colors to choose from so you can probably find one you like.
