brake caliper color...

What color do you guys think look best on a red car for my calipers? I'm thinking about painting the calipers on my GTP, and not sure what would look the best on it. I'm thinking red, and i like the yellow/red color combination of my firehawk, and was thinking about doing my hawk calipers yellow, not sure if i want both cars like that. Any ideas guys? Pics of different combinations would be great too!

I'd polish them. Real classy. Just my $.02

you like polishing all sorts of things dont you...

id say red.

phantomzer0 10-25-2005 05:14 PM

i agree with the polished look, red calipers on a red car wont stand out to much, if you ask me. but a highly polished caliper will. plus id liek to see what it looks like

GotV-8 10-25-2005 05:15 PM

Red would look good, polished would look better.

agreed, just not yellow , i saw a red vette w/ yellow calipers and it reminded me of mcdonalds too much.

Firehawk #608...i like the idea, especially since you're a fellow hawk owner :drive: but i've never really polished anything, and not sure how it would turn out or go about doing it in the first place. Are yours polished? if so, please post up some pics. If i dont go with polished, I may just go with the red, since I'm not too worried about it standing out too much

Polishing them looks good and there is not too much to it. Just sand till all the imperfections are out of the casting flash and then shine them up. It only took me around 2 hours to polish mine that is taking my time. You can then clear coat them to keep that shine. Just my opinion though. I think red would also look good.

do you have any pictures 02 TA?

black01_WS6 10-25-2005 06:39 PM

I think painting them black would look great. they won't stand out all that much, but will look good

Shoot me your e-mail and I will have them to you.

djsanchez2 10-25-2005 11:10 PM

i agree w/ black01.... Go black w/ a decal. do they have one for the bird?

2K2WS6TA 10-25-2005 11:16 PM

I'd do black with a chrome decal

Mike 01WS6 10-26-2005 12:24 AM

I'm doing mine black with a chrome decal. Everyone has red calipers nowadays, be different.

Strokinit383 10-26-2005 12:41 AM

If you want to be different you could always try silver. Maybe a black/silver, red/silver, flat black/silver caliper/bracket combo or vice versa would be neat.

Arachnotron 10-26-2005 07:17 AM

Polished. http://formula.bambeezer.com/calipers.htm

BAIN 10-26-2005 09:23 AM

I say either polished or black. Here's a pic of my gf's. We painted the calipers and the rotor hub black. Looks 1,000,000x better.

93Hawk 10-26-2005 04:10 PM

wow the polished do look very nice, thanks for the site Arachnotron , as does the black with the rotor hub black also like Bain's....now i'm down to either red, black, or polished, not sure which....i'll probably ask some of my friends idea's too, so i'll keep you all updated when i decide, and post up pics with them done.

There is nothing like a Bright Cherry Red Caliper as your car is going over 60 miles per hour.
