I am wondering to know how to do this. It obviously has a thin coat of clear on it because it wont peal off. Please let me know how you have done this because I would like the plane look. Thanks

1) Easier to do with it off the car.
2) Remove leftover bird & text with nail polisher remover or something similar (Not really necessary, ...)
3) Wetsand with 600 grit, then 1200, then 2000 grit wet-sand paper
4) Polish back to a high luster with some type of plastic polish (Easiest to use an orbital buffer.)

Search function will tell this same story over & over, ...
It's painted on, no clear-coat, no decal.
At least original equipment is painted on, ..., & some people do apply decals themselves.

Exactly what PontiacFan said...I was hesitant to do it myself, but it really is easy, and with that grit paper, you can't mess it up. I too have a red TA, and I had wanted to smooth it out to put on a new decal, but it looks so slick, I left it black. It's one of those mods, like side molding removal, that can be scary to do yourself, but very simple once you do it and cleans up the car. Just take your time...

What is wet sanding?

Wet sanding is applying water to the surface that your sanding while your sanding the surface. In other words, keep a steady flow of water of where you are sading. I did this mod myself, I pretty much did exactly what pontiacfan said minus the nailpolish remover. It worked really well. It looked like crap after sanding it and everything, and I used meguires nomber ten polsih. I hand buffed it for like a half hour(dont have a buffer that works right now), and now its smooth as ****, like it is factory. I have pic in my sig.
