Lowering TA + LT's?

I have been told by some folks on this board, that my TA looks like a 4x4 but it is stock height with just 17x9.5 front & 18x10.5 rear z06 rims. Can I lower it and have long tube headers still? What do you guys do to get around this? here is a pic :)

Yep, it's a 4x4 :D And Yep, you can lower it with long tubes. My wife's '00 TA is lowered with the Eibach Pro-Kit and Bilstein shocks and runs Pacesetter Long Tubes, never scrapes those, the y-pipe will scrape on HUGE speedbumps, just have to be slow and careful over those ;)

kinda off topic

I really don't know the answer and this might be a dumb question...but are your rear tires facing the wrong direction? Excuse my ignorance if I am wrong.

I have LTs and I don't have a problem. Just be smart about speed bumps and you will be fine. I have to take one or two at an angle but they are huge speed bumps. The others aren't a problem

short answer: yes they are.

that totally depends on the longtubes you have. SLP i would say no way. If you have any grott style (qtp, ppc, kooks) then youd be okay as these headers tuck up well. FLP's will work, pacesetters, hookers, jethots ive heard good things about as well.

Trust me you can lower it, I have slp LT's and they I think hang as low as any. My car is very low, about 2 or more inch lower.

SLPs headers seem to be the only ones with scraping issues when you lower your car, all the rest seem to tuck up enough to prevent scraping

t/a
pacesetters
3" duals
prokit
scrapes on LARGE speed bumps
other than that its fine.

Not every 'bird needs to be lowered. I think it looks fine as it is now.

Are there any other guys with LT's and true duals that are lowered. What type of clearence do you have and do you scrap over everything? Sorry to hijack.
