Default painted LS6 manifold pics

Well I painted my LS6 manifold and BBK 80mm T/B that I bought from Mike on this site. Great ported manifold and T/B just needed a little make over. Here are the before and after pics.

After

Yeah it looked ok before, it had a lot of oil smudges and stuff that didn't even come off when I cleaned it with simple green. It came off a drag car so it wasn't perfect. But yes it looks 100% better. Fuel rails are going to be red with clear coat.

Thanks. I used rustoleum "Aluminum". That is al its called aluminum. Then some rustoleum clear coat. Got some advice too, never use dupilcolor primer then put rustoleum primer on top of it. My hole manifold was cracked like clay after it gets wet and dries.

Intake looks sick man, 100% better over the red. Know what you mean with the dupilcolor, I did a few interior pieces with a no name brand paint and used some dupilcolor filler primer I had left over. Bad idea, it cracked like a **** the first coat of paint I put on.

Thanks again. Now if only i vould get it to idle below 2000rpm. I think the hole in the blade is to big. The idle screw is all the way down, not even touching the throttle linkage, and I reset the iac sensor and tps and still idles that high.

Dream. . .That intake looks totally sweet!!! Love the work you did on it.
As for the idle. . .I had that same problem a few weeks ago. . . Any chance you've got a vacuum leak under the hood? I had a hose which connects to the throttlebody that had dryrotted and kinked then split open. . .replaced it with another 2-3 inch length of hose (free at Autozone) and no problems! Was free because the guy didn't feel like charging me 35 cents for 3 inches of hose. . . .

sorry been out of town. The idel ended up being small flat spotes on the TB blade, maybe from where it was ported I don't know, but since it was on a larger engine with a large cam it helped that car idle but was way to much air for mine. I fixed that with some very fine lines of silicone, droped the idle down to 1100rpm. MUch better but not perfect, I'm just going to order a new blade for it.
After about 130 miles the computer learned what to do with the new air, and my engine loves it, great power increase and throttle response.

And the manifold is pretty easy to take off. it's like 4 screws that hold down the fuel rails and 10 for the manifold and disconnecting sensors. Look it up on ls1howto website.
