It doesn't matter to me if you are gonna do the hood, spoiler, and other things. I like Z/28s so if i did it, I would just keep the z28 badges and possibly get the retro ones or some other aftermarket z28 badges.

If you are gonna put ss badges on it, at least go all out!!!!! I've seen 2-3 cars w/o the spoiler and that dissapoints me.

Also, putting z28 badges on a v6 is a nono!!!!

Yes.
Pop the vin up it'll be a v-6 car with a swap.

Nothing is wrong with the Z28 I don't know why people feel the need to pass it off as other.

whoa buddy, don't get me wrong; I'm in agreement w/ ya. I don't think there's any good reason to put badges on your car that it wasn't born with. Just using my car as an example

I don't understand why you would it something that it's not regardless of how fast it is, how perfectly the mods were done, or how much money you were able to save. It almost sounds like it would be insulting to have a Z28 badge on your car. If someone took a FRC Corvette, dropped in an LS6, made all the appearance mods, changed the gauges and seats, wheels, etc... does that make it a Z06? No, it makes it a badass C5 that you shouldn't be embarassed to present as such.

I didn't mean any disrespect in my post. Sorry if it was taken otherwise.

I'm just saying we all should be happy with what we have all the cars are cool even the lower trims.

I have no problem with cloning cars....in fact We have a 69 camaro convertible that we made into an SS...say what you want, but that car has everything an SS should have and their is no way of telling it is not a real SS unless you track the VIN...of course when/if we ever sold it, we wouldnt claim it as being a Real SS...You restore any car and it isnt going to be original, being it didnt come with those exact parts from the factory... We also have a 70 chevelle that we cloned into a SS. Their is no possible way what-so-ever that ANYONE could find that it was a clone...not even by tracking the VIN... It was done right, but again if it was sold we wouldnt sell it as an original SS. But if I was looking to buy a 70 chevelle SS 454 I would buy a clone done right over an original. Less money, and the EXACT same car.

If your car has everything that an SS has put on it then throw those badges on there because there isnt anything wrong with it.

Just an observation, but most of the crowd saying it is okay are Z28 owners. Most of the crowd that disagree are SS and WS6 owners...

Personally I would love the 69 Z/28 badges on our car, but unfortunately then our SS would be a poser. Hahah.

BTW it is disappointing to roll up on another "SS" and recognize the spoiler, badge, and then see the 16" painted snowflakes and a standard hood. That is just weak! If you want to pose as an SS then atleast wait until you can afford the hood and some wheels and exhaust (if not the suspension items as well)...

Well I still have the WU8, Y2Y, and build number for our car...

TOTALLY WRONG!!!! I am totally against clone cars. I see them all the time at car shows and either the guy is trying to pass it off as a real one or doesn't have any original ideas so they throw whatever badges on it to make it look more bad-***. Cheapens the look and totally turns me off to the car, if it is not the real thing.
I say take what you have and make it the most bad-*** thing that you can. There is no need to call it something that it is not. Also, if you want the real thing, go buy the real thing! There are plenty of SS Camaros out there and they are not at the point where they are becoming inflated, price-wise. The argument too about if it has all the SS options put on after-the-fact it is okay to call it an SS doesn't hold any weight with me either. If I had a 3rd Gen Z28 and I put on all the 1LE options, should I call it a 1LE car? I'm sure the guys that own the real ones would have something to say about that.
SS Camaros are numbered and limited edition cars. That is the way they should stay! Yeah, I'm biased because I own one, but I bought it because it is the real thing, a true SS.

z28's putting SS badges on is just as retarded as silly imports with typeR badges when its not a typeR.
