Default Anyone painted their sailpanel to match body color?

I have a 02 Sunset Orange Camaro SS and I am looking into painting the black sailpanel to match the body color, but I had a few questions for anyone that has done this. I have been told that adheisive holds the panel on, what is the best method to remove the panel and reinstall it after painting? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt

That's the way Firebirds are from the factory.

Seems like it would make more sense to paint it while it's on the car, though.

I had mine painted at a body shop, so I do not know if they took it off or not. Call you dealership body shop and ask them.
