Default 88-02 carbon fiber ss hoods

I have found these for sale for $800 is this a good price and is the ram air functional on a Z28 or do I need to make changes to my induction system?I was planing on a SLP CAI.
The comercial says its about 40pounds lighter and I think they only have the ram air hood for sale any opinions and advice on these would be great.

88-02? that is quite a wide array of years...

I hope it isn't the same hood.

I hope so, because the 3rd Gen hoods are definitely different from the 93-97 LT1 4th Gen ones, which are then different than the 98-02s.....

Most of us know this I would hope?

Yeah, it would really help if you'd post a link or pic to what it is exactly that you found. So far this thread is useless.

wonder how it would look if you painted the whole hood except leave the manta area unpainted, then you would have carbon fiber manta stripe.

All hoods are the same, they will fit if you really try hard... J/K

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I've done some simple carbon fiber projects, and even my amature attempts beat the hell out of that:

That's not a smudge mark on the dome light, just bad picture taking!!

FIPK intake hose. Also did the hose from the MAF to the throttlebody.
Don't claim to be a carbon fiber expert, just do my own little projects here and there. Surfaces are a lot smoother than the pictures make them out to be. I suck at digital photography.
