No, different plugs. The H7 uses regular male spade terminals. What I did to not lose the factory plug is snip the factory plug about 2 inches from the end then put them back together with a larger butt splice and added an additional wire about 8-10 inches long facing away from the plug. On the end of the additional wires I crimped female spade connectors.

The reason for the additional length is to allow the bulky stock plug to be placed well behind the light and out of the way of the flip up mechanism when using the spade terminals. That way I can put stock headlight bulbs back in if I want to and have the longer spade terminals tucked back out of the way. I really don't see any point to removing the stock plug and adding spades. Do like I did and keep both.

There are pictures in the very first link. Did you look at them before posting? I just did my wires a little bit longer than he did.

I'm not sure I want any credit for helping someone with a Porsche front end conversion on an F-body.
Besides, wouldn't you have to use Porsche lights anyway?

I have the 90mm hella projectors on my 98 WS6, they work great, I need to do some work on the cutoff pattern between the passenger side and drivers side lights to get some better coverage in teh middle.

Overall, even with the stock H9 lamps in them, it wa $120 WELL spent for the upgrade. I decided to drive for a month or so before I considered HID's and right now, I am happy with them

Any pics you have of them in the car or the beam pattern would be appreciated.

Do you need to modify the cutoff shape or do you just need to adjust the aiming?

What bulbs did they come with?
Not Silverstars, but not yellow either?

Thanks Jason So is there any way to get some better lighting without cutting the stock wiring?

Oh, come on. Just cut it. Or get someone more experienced to cut it for you. No big deal.

no you misunderstood, im converting the front end of my porsche 944 to non flip up headlights, they make clear covers so i can get rid of the headlight motors for weight and space under the hood.

i can mock up these lights behind the covers and they would look sweet!!

BTW theres also an LS1 going in the porsche,

not an F-body front end conversion.... that would be hideous. LOL

Oh, OK. I remember running across some conversion kits to make the 944 fixed a long time ago. There's also a lot of kits for the RX7.

I also remember a guy with a LS1 into a 911 and 914, but not the 944. Maybe I saw a webpage of a 944 under construction?

Did you mean the E46 projectors for your car or another light?

If you read that link, it say's under that picture:
Note: The Silverstars will appear whiter then OEM foglights. HAZ-Matt runs aftermarket foglight housings and superwhite foglights.

I see, you've confused me with HAZ-Matt.

I, JasonWW, personally have a black TA and do not use any fog lights.

Maybe try seaching for foglight threads and see if anyone has found some very white ones. I'm sure they have.

HIDPlanet seems to have gone offline, and the V6 site is down for repairs. lol

I have been considering HID conversion, but I can't stand the little round projectors. Especially next to a rectangular bulb, but even with all 4, it just doesn't look right on these cars.

Anyway to stuff the projectors into a rectangular housing?

You can, but the projector is longer than the rectangular housings and would have to stick out through the front lense.
If you wanted to push the projector further back so that it is flush with the headlight glass you would have to cut a chunk of metal out of the radiator cross support. Here is an LT1 where the guy cut the metal out. So it can be done, but I wouldn't do it that way myself. Maybe you could buy another radiator support beam from a salvage yard, modify it off the car (cut the notches and weld in some support) then swap the beams out.
Doing it off the car would make it easier and you could grind the welds down and paint it up so it's factory looking.

Now that I think about it, that does make sense. I'm going to make some fixed projectors (I made a thread) and the depth is just enough to squeeze them in, but if I modded the cross beam I could move the lenses back to give myself some room. Plus it would look better. Hey, that sounds good. I wonder why I didn't think of that before?

I even know of some projectors that might fit. Now I know that these are too long for a stock LS1 car but if you cut the metal behind the light they should fit. They are 4x6 and I think our lights are close to that or a little smaller. With some tweaking they may fit the stock rectangular hole. I don't know for sure.

Don't they look nice though?

I dont understand why no one makes a kit for firebirds yet... I cant understand everything enough to do it all myself. I just wish i could be told exactly what to buy and what to do to get HID's. I just keep seeing all these different combinations of what is possible and i just cant see what will work.
