Default Cancell rims for a good paint job? Need Opinions

My rims (Chrome Ruff Racing 278s) are taking forever because they are jacking around and switching manufactures and crap. I don't want to end up with some bad quality rims. Anyways, the rims on order aren't excatlly what I want, but its whats in the budget. I'd perfer some that look just like them but to my specs. I'm looking at CCW, I Forged, Bon Speed, Billet Specialties...ect.(The expensive stuff). If I got the wheels, the car would look cool, but the paint sucks.

As some of you know...this current color is temporary. The paint was done by me and its great for a first. Although its a far cry from a good paint job. I'm sure those that have seen it know what I'm talking about. Its got more problems that most know of, but I cringe when I see all the flaws. I think I hit a bird or something...I now have a baseball size chunk of paint missing on my front bumper and it will probably continue to grow.

I'm trying to decide if I should cancell my rims so I can use that money for a professional paint job this summer? This summer would be the perfect time. I'll be working more to get some extra cash, i'm only taking 1 class so I have time for my car's prep, and I *could spare the extra cash if I had too. Only thing is, my car will look funny with a nice paint job and stock rims. I guess I plan on staying at Discount Tire for a while, so I would still be able to get some nicer wheels for cheaper eventually after paint. That would probably be next summer.

I say paint. I believe you would be happier with a nice paint job than some rims.

Paint it, you can always polish/paint/powdercoat your rims to have more bling, but the paint will really make the car look sharp

This is my first poll, I figured it would atract a lot of votes....I guess not. My local board has gotten more its and their is about 50 regular members. BTW, its unanimous over there for a paint job. Maybe because they have seen it? LOL

Do the paintjob first, don't want the rims to look better than the car!

If you're not 100% on the wheels you're ordering how is this even a question. Go with the paint, then save up for the wheels you really want. As said before, you can have the painter do some work on your stock wheels too.

yep, I like my stockers to stay chrome....can't really paint that anyways. Its a bummer because ever since I had my first car...a camaro, I've wanted some wheels with fat ol' tires. That was four years ago and it almost came true. I'll talk to my painter as soon as I have time away from school.

PAINT! No question! Get some cheap aftermarket wheels later and good ones even later. Stock wheels cant ruin your car, but a crappy paint job can. Plus, what is the first thing you notice on a car? Paint.

Man, get the paint fixed first if you can afford it. Then save up and get the wheels you really want. One guy made a statement on here and i couldnt agree more:

The worst thing in the world is when you walk out of the store and you see your car and the wheels you bought and you say "those are ok, but i really wish i would have gotten those others..."

You never want to do anything half way because its all you can afford at the moment, if you save up and get what you trully want it is sooo much more rewarding.

I don't know, I for one don't think stock trans am wheels are all that bad.

I would rather have a t/a with stellar paint and stock rims than poopy paint and better rims.

Why put $6000 rims on a mangy dog? You can't have paint coming off in sheets and feel good about hot rims.

Paint it, and forget the rims, buy a supercharger kit the next time you have 6 $grand.

Alright, I just got an update on the rims and they are on their way. It should be 2-3 weeks. I can't cancell them now. Its okay though. I can either keep em or sell them for profit. I'll probably keep them as I waited so long to get them and their is NOTHING I like in a good price range. On the bright side, I can get some money back selling my old rims and tires. That and I've got some other tires to sell as well as my 2 expensive r/c cars. The rims are gunna look freakin' great though. I'll be the first on LS1TECH to have em' in chrome.....go me!

Yes, the rims in my photoshop are HRE 547R's. Although, my Ruff Racing 278's look sorta the same from a far, but shiny-er!

I haven't found any other wheels that look close to the awesome HRE's, CCW, Iforged....ect.

Theirs some other wheels I know of that i've never heard on here.
Bon Speed...I like the Crokus model
