Ice Review *pics*

welp prom was yesterday...so i got up and detailed my car...these are the steps...

1.dawn..strip old wax
2.Meguires car wash
3.dry...absorber
4.meguires Scratch X
5.meguires Gold Class paste wax
6.Turtle wax ICE...to add a lil shine..

This pic was taken in a decently shine day but the sun was behind the clouds at the time...so no direct sun was actually hitting my car, but when it did my whole car actually looked wet, and it made the black look DEEP and dark...

NOW although i got this awsome result i was Still Doubting the ICE a lil wondering if it would last worth anything or as soon as a lil rain or anything hits my car it go back to lookin like crap again...well lastnite it started raining right after grand march...about 8, and didn't stop till around 2 this after noon...im talkin HARD rain this wasn't just some sprinkles here and there or anything....

ANYWAYS these pics were takin about an hour or so after the rain stopped (still cloudy and grey out)...im am very impressed with how my car STILL looks

Wow awsome results. When you say you meg scratch x the car do you mean the whole car or just certain parts?
-Thanks Brandon

just a few areas...

SS4Luck 05-14-2006 04:11 PM

see now ive used it on the black roof of my car and am horrified with the results no matter what i do it looks funny and streaky... ive tried less ice more buffing more ice more buffing so on and so forth and its always streaky even after i wpie it with a damp towel like they say to... i love how it makes the pewter of my car shine though

SVThis 05-14-2006 04:25 PM

maybe your not letting it dry good enough....i did my whole car then when back and buffed my whole car back out...and it came off really well...and i love how it was only like a 15 minute job to apply it to my whole car, and i didn't have to worry about getting it in cracks and on rubber things

this is what happened to my car after "ice"

nice.. contribution.

As for the ice, very good pics. I like ice, it actually held up pretty good yesterday. I put my car to the ultimate test. I iced half of the car, then drove through the pouring rain all day yesterday. At the end of the day, the side with the ice was dirty, but not as bad as the other side that had zaino on it.

ArcticZ28 05-14-2006 07:23 PM

Did you wax half with zaino and half with ice or was the zaino leftover from the last wax? I would think that would be how to test it rather than a new coat of ice on one side and old wax on the other side.

BackinBlack02SS 05-14-2006 08:39 PM

Why did you apply the polish after the wax?

SVThis 05-14-2006 08:43 PM

ice is a technicaly a wax...Plus all the detail guru's on here say thats a bad idea to do ice then wax

BlackHawk T/A 05-14-2006 09:05 PM

Ice is a final step product.

Looks good. I did the same and put a coat of wax down first. I'm going to go over the car again (NXT Tech Wax) before Icing it though. I'm using that for wax protection, and the Ice for added shine, although that wax is already pretty badass.

LOOKS BAD MAN GOING TO TRY THE ICE ON MY CAR NEXT WEEKEND :drive:

Starz T/A 17 05-14-2006 09:51 PM
