The lights are PIAA 1100 x Platinum Lamps. They are bright enough for me to drive w/o my low beams, just my parks, and halos on. I think I like that look. Thoughts?

nhra-trans-am May 22, 2006 09:28 PM

those are pretty bright

Z28LS1camaroguy May 22, 2006 09:47 PM

i drive like that alot, usually until i get on some back country road or its really dark out. halos and fog lights together are the perfect combo.

I have had those for almost 2 years. Maybe it's been more not sure. On coming traffic will always flash their brights. Looks badass with halos and fogs only

looks good.. post some daylight pics, lets see how the car looks with the lights installed

How did you end up mounting yours, and have they melted or warped your car at all? Will post daytime pics tonight...

I think I did a little shaving of the bracket. Don't remember to be honest. Never melted or warped any plastic/paint and are really close to bumper. Going on strong!

How did you get your lights off at night? I have auto lights btw.

That's funny. Goto page 2 of my cardomain, and look at my 3rd brake light.

To answer your question, I disabled the DRL's. I hated that I couldn't turn off my lights at night. No override button either. So, I disabled DRL's altogether. :drive:

its really not that bad.. if you look to the left or right of the pic, you can see on the gaurdrail of the bridge the cutoff line. above that line, when you look at the lights, you see them lit but they arent bright at all.

SmokeySS May 23, 2006 11:06 PM

The PIAAs you installed, are they bulbs, or are they replacement foglamps with their own bulbs?

killerbeez May 23, 2006 11:54 PM

PIAA's are a whole new fog assembly, with different bulbs. he MAY have even gone farther and gotten a different bulb.

SS4Luck May 24, 2006 12:45 AM

do you have to take the bumper off to mounth the PIAAs?

SleeperZzZ28 May 24, 2006 01:02 AM

which model piaa fog lamp did you get and how is the fit. Got any close up pics of the install? post up Im interested in doing this to my car

rxmxsh May 24, 2006 12:34 PM

The lights can be found here:
http://piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/1100x.html

I didn't have any fogs in my car beforehand, and I didn't feel like making brackets, so I drilled a hole in the top of the opening where the fogs go, and put the bolt from the lamp through and tightened the hell out of it. They fit tightly, but I'm happy w/the results. I still have to get daytime pics, but it's been real shitty weather here. I'll see about posting some up soon.

Ok here's some day pics. Don't worry, I'm planning on cleaning my car this weeked. It is my DD for now...
