Default My interior !red project continued.

Well I just wanted to let you know that my red removal project is still underway. Here are some pics of the progress

Before project !red:

Project !red phase one:

Project !red phase two:

For some reason in some of the pics you can see some of the red on the speaker grilles and stuff like that through the black, I think its just my camera because you can't see any red at ALL through anything that is black in real life.

Next up I think are going to be the runners on the doors and the vents , and as much as I have grown attached to it I think my wheel cover is going to have to go.

Constructive criticism and comments welcome!

When you bought it was it red? I personally would buy new parts, not just paint them black... but it does look better than red.

No I'm the culprit, I started a project that I wasn't commited to putting the funds into finishing. So I'm going a different more easy on the eyes approach.

I think the mid cd holder storage thingy(?) would look better if it was the black of the center console imo.

Yea I know, I have to get some vinyl paint stuff and dye it black , or wrap it in something, or get a new one that is black.

Good idea... Drop my friend Bobby an e-mail at bad86z28@hotmail.com He can get all the parts you need, probably for less than the cost of the paint...

go to a parking lot, one that is underground so you hear more of the noises better, everytime someone gets out they always put their hand/foot brake on, it's just a habit. is there anything wrong with tat?

I did the red mod then the !red mod less than a year later and went to gloss black before buying all new factory parts and replacing everything back to stock. I really thought it was cool at first too... looking back it was just tacky as hell. Good work on making the decision to swap over, now get the rest done.

The way I see it, if someone ever tries to steal it , it will take them half a second longer.

And to everyone else thanks for the compliments.

I dont think I'm going to be buying new parts, I think I am going to try to rock the gloss black, I'm thinking about sanding down all the other plastic pieces and painting them gloss black, but not until I have the cash for some black carpet, do something about the seats, headliner etc etc etc.

I am removing the red bit by bit, it is hard to paint over paint without it looking like **** and finding the time is getting harder and harder.

But, phase 3 might just be coming this weekend!!

BTW: Anyone want to buy a red/black lightly used wheelskins cover?
