Default Coil Relocation Kits: Which one?

Simply by location, I've seen those that relocate the coils to:
A. Under the cowl
B. On the fenderwell by the shock tower mounts
C. On top of the fuel rails
D. Below the headers

Appearance-wise, I like D. below the headers, because it totally gets them out of eyesight and does the best job of cleaning up the engine bay.

Cost aside, post up what your thoughts are for this mod and where the coils should be relocated. FYI, I really want to add some nice highly polished or custom painted valve covers.

Thanks.

Under the cowl is best.

That way the stock coil harnesses hook right up. You don't need to cut/splice harness wires like you would if relocating to any of the other locations. ~Joshua

Check out Chrome & Performance or Thunder Racing for the under cowl versions.

Check out Chrome and Performance's version. More versatile and can include all the tools needed along with choice's of plug wires.

Under the cowl isn't bad but I really like the kit putting them totally under the headers. If I'm going to spend time/money to get a blinged out set of valve covers, I don't want them covered at all and the "under the cowl" version still partially blocks them. Ahhhrrrrrrghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah my version lets you remove the entire coil "brick" (4 coils linked together) from the bracket that bolts under the cowl without having to remove the windsheild wiper/plastic cowl to access the bolts.

Mine is basically a copy of the Thunder kit that improves on the bracket design. With just one bolt you can have the whole brick out of the car in 5 minutes.

Plus, mine comes with detailed install instructions, and you can get the two tools that make the install much easier. The Thunder kit has no instructions or tools.

The only downside to my kit is that the spark plug wires are not included. I have the part numbers in the Summit catalogue depending on what brand (MSD,Taylor,Accel) and color.

I would have to say that Under the headers is the BEST for performance, shortest wire length, but under the cowl is the better choice still. Easy to install/remove, easily servicable, and more practical.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm already putting together a list of things I'm planning to get from Firehawk's website this winter.... that website looks really good by the way. One suggestion I have is to offer some type of package for polished/stainless fasteners throughout the engine bay, such as all those along the inner fender and along the radiator support.

Excellent - then you can combine the polished valve covers, waterpump, throttle body, MAF ends, coil relocation kit, and fastener package into one "Ultimate Engine Bay Bling Package" and offer a 15% savings. Feel free to call it "The Shudog Special" as I would certainly be the first to order such a kit.

If somebody wants a special offer.. feel free to PM. As long as it makes decent business sense I just might do it. ~Joshua
