Default Will a 2000 T/A Speedo Fit a 98 v6Bird?

I was wondering if a 2000 T/A Speedo would fit a 98 v6 bird? My mechanic said he didnt think it would work but I was just wondering if anyone actually knew!? Im just tired of a 125 speedo.

i don't see why you need it...

but I don't see why it wouldn't fit; it would have to be recalibrated of course...

why would you need it? 125... 155... same thing.

waste of time, money, and hassle IMO

1.) V6 and V8 aren't switchable, completely different in every way.
2.) 97-99 (97-98?) are different from the 00-02's and arent switchable. Don't know why, just know they won't work on anything but those years.

What's so different about them? I can't see GM making completely unique connectors on the two separate clusters. The only differences I can forsee is the MPH and RPM's won't regester correctly. It is more hassle than it's worth, but I'm betting it's a simple swap out.

Ya I did a motor swap (or the guy before me did) and my rpms dont work accuratly. I never get it past 4000 something. But it is hittin around 6 I imagine. So I need it recalibrated probobly already. But I would really want to have a longer speedo. So something you guys think 98-99 might go in correctly? Has anyone ever done this or tried and failed.

I dont know but try switching them and you'll see. They are calibrated different. Wires are different, everything is.

So has anyone ever tried this before? I mean I imagine not too many v6sters out there would even need the extra mph anyways. So not too many people probobly thought of doing it.
