Overcast weather is PERFECT to shoot in so imagine my excitement when I woke to an overcast day today and then realized my car was clean as well. So after I ate and got cleaned up I grabbed the camera and headed out to some spots that I've really wanted to get pictures at in downtown Nashville... only to have the sun come out and stay out once I got there. I still took some shots since I was there but they are far less than they could have been had the lighting cooperated.

Overall nothing too spectacular but I feel alot of potential in those Marathon Motor Works shots, especially #4. When I get a nice overcast day or some sunset lighting and a chance to shoot I'm going back and working on getting some better angles and some amazing shots.

Great Pics!! I'm surprised you like overcast better then sunny. I'm aware of the heavy shadows produced by the sun but of course that depends on the time of day..like high noon being the worst. Also if you're including the sky in the pics a cloudy day it causes it to get blown out. I prefer the overcast days for flower shots. My favorite time of day is the short time after sunrise and before sunset. I really like the pics you have here alot...with the sun . What color temp is it set on? I've always loved the results I got with my Nikon D1x when I had it. I started in photography with Nikon 18 yrs ago and switched to Canon 2 years ago. I've been struggling with the color ever since....just can't get it to be like the Nikon .
P.S...I'm not saying anything bad about cloudy vs sunny....just talking since we have the opposite thought and just want to see what you have to say.

Those are Ruff 278 wheels.
I just prefer to shoot in overcast conditions. On an absolutely overcast day I dont have to worry about sun position, what time of day, etc. A fully overcast day is just easier for me to get good color, less reflections and shadows, and it just kind of acts like a natural ceiling like shooting in a studio would IMO. You have to keep in mind I mainly shoot my own car and I'm talking car shots, and red gets severly washed out in bright light. Thats why I prefer to shoot on overcast days.
