Critical Appearance Mod, Need Everyone's Input

:hail: This is a wheel question, but wheels have to do with the overall appearance of a car, this isn't an F-Body, and there are some members who regularly visit this particular forum who's opinions I really respect, so thats why this is getting posted in here. If the mods must move it I understand but wheels are just a huge purchase and such an integral part of a car's overall appearance I'm hoping some leeway can be made and this one can slide. Need all the help I can get here guys.

The car they are going on...

Obviously #2 is the most popular choice out of the three wheels I'm looking at. I can barely find pictures of the #1 wheel and have only seen that one car with the #3 wheel on it. None of the cars I've seen with any of the wheels have been the same color as my car. So anybody that wants to attempt a photoshop on any of those wheels on my car please feel free. Thanks a ton for any input guys. It is much appreciated.

UPDATE:

Chops someone did for me in the multimedia section...

#1....

FWIW, I voted none of the above just so I can see the poll results in the thread without clicking to see them every single time.

#1 all the way. Much easier to clean and looks killer.

Well they are all beautiful wheels!! My favorites are choice number 2. I love the lip on the back but would prefer more lip in the front wheels though. How much lip you can stuff in the front?? I dont like the staggered look and would go with the same width in all fours.
I say go with 2....awesome wheels!!

#1s look the best-#3 the worst

#1 for sure man, it will look amazing

You can't go wrong with any of them.

Nice photos of the car.

Shoot I think your car looks great with the stock wheels but thats just me...

Interesting seeing so many people pick the first choice. I really like #1 and #3 but am ever so slightly leaning towards #2 as I think they fit the car's overall lines a bit better.

I cant stand the same sized lip all around, especially with a bigger lip. The rears are 19s and have a 3" lip, the fronts have a 1" lip (if I go 18s up front) or a 2" lip (if I got 19s up front).

#1, those are the best wheels I've seen on a GTO.

I like #2

CCW's all the way, either the 505's or the sp500's. If it were mine I would go with the sp500, I love those rims, I think the 5 spoke look would look incredible on your car. They have a nice little lip, and very clean lines.

josh99ta Dec 1, 2006 11:18 PM

Lip would be the same on all rims involved so thats not a concern. The style is what I'm having difficulty with. I think visually I like the 2nd wheel more (CCW 505As) but its more sporty whereas the color of my car is more classy which fits the 1st wheel choice more (CCW SP500s). And I think the 3rd choice is a good balance between sporty and classy.

The only decision I'd need to make would be 18" or 19" up front (18s have 1" lip, 19s have 2" lip). Generally I'd say to go the same size all around but every GTO I've ever seen that REALLY stood out to me (the W2W GTO in the 2006 LS1Tech calendar, BMR's GTO that got the spread in GMHTP as the fastest GTO at the time) have all had 18s up front and 19s in the rear.

I like #1.

#1 looks sweet on your ride. looks good with your cars lines.

6LITEREATER Dec 1, 2006 11:30 PM

#1 all the way... #2 looks a little cheap for some reason and #3 looks like you came back and finished the post after a night of hard drinking and didn't realize what rim you were posting...

STRETCH'S T/A Dec 1, 2006 11:46 PM

Yeah, the 505A's would be a good compromise between classy and sportiness, especially with that color car. But I think the GTO has clean smooth lines, that's why I still think the SP500's would look badass. I would do 18's up front and some 19's in the back. But it's your car Josh, hope our input helps you out man.

I like #2 because of the lip on the rear....but #1 is a nice wheel too.

SweeTbone Dec 2, 2006 12:17 AM

#1 is where it's at.
