Default Using car wax and detail tools to fix CD scratches?

Anybody every waxed their scratched CD with some special solution that repaired it? I was thinking about using some kinda wax to fill in those scratches and shine up the CD playing surface to new. Anyone ever been successful?

I have used wax, hand-applied. I've gotten crappy CDs from NetFlix, that wouldn't play, to play. I recommend an application of cleaner wax first, and then a wax without cleaners so that it can fill the cracks. The solution is temporary, but effective.

I don't recommend application with a buffer. That'd be needlessly difficult.

Yeah, let me go plug in my buffer, pick a pad to gum up for a little CD, and find a surface to press it against.

It takes 5 minutes tops to wax/buff out a CD with my bare hands. Your results are easily checked with a wipe-on-wipe-off method as well. Get a clue, durrr.

i used to put toothpaste on the data side and then put it in the toilet and flush it. it worked for me but that was back when people actually used CD's.
