Pics of back seats removed.

Like the title says; I want pics of cars with the back seats removed. I'm debating on doing it myself and just want a good idea of how it looks and what process to go through to remove them.(hope I put this in the right forum) :)

I just ripped mine out today. Ill try to find my digi and get some pics for you by tonight.

Wezie F Baby 02-20-2007 06:15 PM

Thanx.

So there's carpet behind the seat; I thought I had to put some material in a blank spot.

Keep em coming guys.

angrychicken 02-20-2007 08:24 PM

now are you guys gonna put something in its place or just leave it like that?

Sgt. Spuds 02-20-2007 11:14 PM

I put my back seats back in...

craz28 02-21-2007 12:10 PM

I took em out once and then realized how many people like to ride in my car

Why would you? The point of removing back seats (for most of us) is to take weight out of the car... why add back in more weight? IMO, I'd rather be fast than pretty.

i took mine out becuase my bottle was hitting the back rest part. i'm wanting to stick it back in the middle though becuase i want it closer and sticking the seats back in there. it just looks to empty back there :(

z34_nut 02-21-2007 02:27 PM

I keep the back seats in because;

#1. This car is my DD. I'd consider taking the back seats of my Z34, but thats different.
#2. I transport 2 passengers often.
#4. Looks really odd.

i think it looks weird, but you dont always have ppl asking you for rides at least.

Breaking Stuff 02-22-2007 11:31 AM

Sorry it took so long...

When i took off the seats I realised that they weigh nothing

DRSITES 02-23-2007 10:43 AM

eh, you should really run that line under the carpet...

The seats themselves don't weigh much, but the seat belts weigh a few pounds a piece, you're probably knocking out like 15-20 lbs all together. I took mine out with the intention of building a storage box (rear seat delete box) back there. I figure it'll be about equal on weight, but it'll look good, keep people out of the back, and give me a place to secure stuff, especially at car shows when I want the car cleaned out and left open while I walk around...

angrychicken 02-23-2007 12:24 PM

I did it cause I hardly ever gave people rides. That and a lil show.

a lot of people dont like the look of my rear seat delete.... but it serves its purpose. it weighs no more than the seats, probably a bit less actually.

It used to be blocked by the seats, just took them out a few days ago. Im planning on running it through the firewall and inside the panels.

thmass6 02-23-2007 04:36 PM

Yeah I don't understand the point of taking the seats out if you don't have any plans for that area. There is carpet behind them, but it's bumpy and loose, so it's not pretty. 15 lb of weight is absolutely nothing, so I hope you're not doing it just for weight issues. If that's the case, what's next, taking the floormats out to save on weight! :eyes:

angrychicken 02-24-2007 10:32 PM

Hey Stevethepirate. Did you go crazy with the staple gun or what. Why didnt you just use spray glue and staple the underside.

stevethepirate 02-25-2007 01:30 PM

we used a lot of staples, it was just easier than using that spray glue, because i had plans to run wires and stuff under it.

those pictures are from when it was first made. now the staples dont stand out as much.
