Default Tinted Taillights, Snap on or Film??

Searched but found...not much. Do the tinted ones peel/fade? Could somebody steal the snap ones? Any help would be great, I want some.

I would use vht nite shades. It comes in a can that you just spray on and it looks really good, not cheap.

Same here on the VHT. I'm very happy with the results on mine. I would never buy the covers.

Yep, VHT for the win.
Here are some pics of mine. I used 3 coats of vht followed by 3 coats of clear. I waited a day, then used a polishing compound and voila!. I have since put my stockers back in just because I think the Lt1 style lights look great on red cars.

those taillights came out excellent. Be forewarned that using strictly the VHT nightshades and no clear or compounding, the taillights come out dull and dirty looking.

The clear/compounding stuff wasn't for sale on the site where I ordered the vht nite shades. Where can I get some?

Go to your local parts store and pick up a can of clear coat. I used duplicolor's....

The more you clearcoat, the shinier they are.

Yep. Here is a good pic of mine now 6 months after doin it & the car sits outside 100% of the time with no cover on it. I did the same as mentioned above, (3) coats VHT & (3) coats clear. I also used Duplicolor clear, but used the Truck/SUV clear. I also did my third brake light & side markers with only (2) cans of VHT for everything.

Did you also use a polishing compound like whatever 68z28 was talking about? And if so which?

nope... no polishing.... I did give it a quick wetsanding after I painted them w/ the niteshade/before clear coating. I wetsanded w/ 2000 grit to smooth them out.

then clear coat..... remember that the clear coat, you have to lay a rather thick layer of it to get it to shine.... the stuff is pretty sticky/thick so it doesn't run as easy.

I used real automotive clear with some black mixed in and put about 4 coats on to get it the right darkness. I've used VHT by itself in the past and one time it came out glossy and another it came out flat. I never tried clearing over it though. These are on a buddy's car after I got exports for mine and gave these to him.

That looks really good, but I already ordered the VHT so hopefully it doesn't turn out glossy or flat...

The rear end of my car will look exactly like yours once I get the tail lights done. Except for the red SS symbol instead of chromed z/28. Looks nice!
