Anybody change the color of the bulb in a Autometer 5" tach?

Default Anybody change the color of the bulb in a Autometer 5" tach?

I'd like to make mine light up blue....what is the best way, any pics? Thanks.

I think you can paint the bulb with a Dark blue paint. I know when I pulled 194 bulbs out of the dash of my 88 GTA I once owned The bulbs were all painted a dark orange by factory to make the dash lights light up red/orange. Other wise you could by the color condoms from autometer and trim a blue one down and maybe glue it to the tach bulb??

I'm thinking about getting a blue 194, but Id like to try to find a blue LED somewhere?

Get a 194 WLEDx5 blue LED bulb from superbrightleds. That way it disperses the light evenly. Autometer uses the same size bulb in all their gauges

autometer makes the bulb for the tach, i have it in my car. i also bought 194 LEDS on ebay but they switch on and off. so far i havent had any problems with the bulb i bought directly from autometer. but the bulb is liek 14 bucks for that tiny thing.


its not the best pic, but it matches the ones on the pod. the pic is a little off

That does look good but it may be worthwhile to save a little cash and go with the WLEDx5 IMO
