Retro Emblems, how'd you apply them?

I've got some z/28 emblems coming in the mail and I was wondering how everyone applied them. I was thinking of cutting of the pins and getting some glue and glueing them. What would be the best for that?

i used my dremel and the cutoff wheel to cut off the pins, then i used the 3M super hold double sided tape. The gray stuff, not the clear stuff.

Double sided black foam tape, 1/16 inch, looks factory.

Yeah, but doesn't it show through?

That's what I did on the old Z. It won't show through if you take the time and cut the tape

Take a razor blade and trim the tape off around the badge from the back side and it will not stick out or show around the badges.

I used double sided tape like everyone else said. Just make sure you take a razor blade and trip up any parts that might show. I did that on my Z and it looked great, post up some pics when you get it done. :)

I will do that. I'm still waiting on the emblems to arrive

Ok I got the emblems today. I cut the things off, put the tape on and was going for a test fit deal and its curved like a mofo. There is a large gap, atleast an 1/8th of an inch. What did you do to over come that?

I wrapped mine up and stomped the shit out of it. Or you can use a rubber mallet and lay it on a flat surface and massage it until it's right

RickyMartinZ28 May 25, 2007 02:05 AM

depends on what they're made out of, I tried that on a Mustang retro fit awhile back and those things came all to peices
