My experience with Turtle Wax's ICE.
 

First off let me say that I'm pretty picky when it comes to keeping my car clean and the products I use, in order these are what I've found to be the best and currently use option 1 as I've seen the best results, durability, and anti-static properties from it:

1. Zaino (both polish and detail spray)
2. Meguires 3-step system (paint cleaner/scratch remover, polish, wax)
3. Meguires NXT

Although the 3 step system is #2, I definitely used NXT more before Zaino simply because it was easy, but it made my car a dust MAGNET and it didn't last very long, although when it was dust free and still coated well it looked good. I love Zaino, it is extremely durable, the shine is awesome, and I dont have to use much product at all so it lasts awhile on the shelf too.

On topic, I went to a show and shine last week and my car got dumped on by rain on the way, so I used detail spray to get it cleaned up at the place, when I did so it gave me a few scratches all over and seemed to dull the finish. I washed it after and detail sprayed it, a little better, and on the 4th I took a 3 hour drive there and back to a camp to watch my friends play in their band. It had bugs all over it and was dirty from the rain on the way there too.

I remember some of you guys talking about ICE on here, and I also met a guy with a C4 that used it and his car looked great for 220k and being 18 years old so I thought I'd give it a shot. What I bought was the ICE paste which is a polish applied with a moist applicator pad to liquify it. It was very easy to put on but seemed kind of greasy, I did the whole car and waited 5 mins (per instructions) for it to haze then went at it with a microfiber towel. It came of pretty easily, but you do need to go over it again with the 'clean' side of the towel to get the rest of the residue off. I got the whole car done in about an hour and I have to say, it shines EXTREMELY well, better than Zaino IMHO. I do have a couple of pluses and minuses though:

Pluses:
-Easy to apply
-Shine is absolutely amazing (I actually stood back and said 'Wow' :jest: )
-I barely used any of the product, this tub will last me a LONG time
-No white residue
-I didn't even use 1 whole microfiber towel to remove it all (basically one whole side and I used the other for a final sweep over the car when I was done)

Minuses
-I shouldn't have done the whole car at one time, when I got to the last couple of panels it left 'shadows' of where the polish was, it came off, it just took some extra rubbing.
-Thats it

Conclusion
-Now all I need to find out if and how long this stuff lasts on the car in the heat etc., and also the static properties to it. If it lasts awhile and doesn't make my car look like I drove through the desert I'm sold on it. Great product so far! I was also VERY skeptical of the product, I'm a creature of habit and Zaino has worked very well for me, but I can't really deny the results. Thats all I have guys!

As far as the ICE, I did the same thing with my old red TA....I was really impressed. It does attract alot of dust, and it will basically wash off in the rain. But I got pretty quick with it, and since it looked so good, I just went over it every time it got wet.

I tried it once on my black Vette, and it took forever to get all the damn streaks off the finish, and it didn't really seem to shine any better than a proper wax/polish job.

Being able to get it wherever and won't stain is a plus...but there are alot of other products out there that do the same thing. If you have the time to wax instead, wax. If not, ICE is definetely a great product for a "quickie" cleanup

Thats a shame about the dust, I think I'll go over it with some detail spray in the AM then to see if that helps. As far as the wheels, I'm going to hold out for the new ride :)

Which product are you guys using? I went over it with detail spray (Z6) which has some anti-static properties to it so we'll see tomorrow if it helps.

I used the ICE liquid and I have to say it makes it the shiniest and wetest looking, but wont last in the rain, nor over a week of dry weather. It has no protection and IMO didnt cover up as well. You used the paste which is suposed to be much better with protection and covering up but not suposed to be AS shinny as the liquid. To be honest I have been tryin all diffrent stuff the last 2 months and I stick with NXT, #7 show car glaze, the 3 step system, and zanio. I will use ICE when I go to the car show becuase I want it to look shiniest. Thats my opnion I love it for the car show, but thats the only time I would need it.

For a spray detailer, I would use the new MEG.s Ultimate Quick Detailer. Its amazing you have to try for yourself. I tried the ICE detailer spray and thats garbage. It left streaks, was harder to apply the most sprays, and the shine was the dullest from what I have been using.

I just used a Turtle Wax product the other day and the shine is unbelievable. I will have to try Meguir's NXT next though.

So far I haven't had issues with static or anything, the car has been out and about and also sitting around alot today with little of anything settling on it. I did go over it with some Z6 which seems to help alot, I think the ICE coupled with Z6 is a good combo.

I just used the Ice liquid polish on my car again today. Then I went over it with the Ice spray detailer and it worked much better. The spray detailer sucked when I had NXT on it but with the Ice polish it bonded, and worked awsome.

i wash then liquid clay then the ice polish.. my car never shined so bright before.... but after a day cruise and you cali dust it the car shows off the swirl marks again... the ice does work great tho. ill stick with my meguire gold

Ice is silicone oil, most claim about a weeks durability. At $16 a bottle it's a total rip off.
