a guy named whistler is the guy who started the trend i think so they named the mod after him. yes, its just black housing headlights.

i removed the lens, taped off the part thats still chrome, roughed up the rest with steel wool, cleaned it, then sprayed it with about 3 light coats of gloss black.

i followed this GREAT tutorial: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/224386/2

the only thing i did different was i taped it off first so i wouldn't scratch the mirrored area with the steel wool.

i cant beleive how clear your lights are.. ive sanded, polished, ect ect and i still cant get mine to be that clear..

Mine did not come out that good... When I peeled off the tape, it pulled some paint up w/ it. What kind of paint did you use and did you pull the tape off after it dried or while it was wet? Thanks.

What I did when I did the mod to mine was wait till the paint was completely dry, and then use a razor blade and went around the tape so that it was definitally separated from the paint, and when I pulled up the tape I had no problems.
