Best lowered set up with 18's??

Does anyone know what the best lowering set up would be using 18" Y2K vette wheels on all fours and 305/40r18 nitto drags on the back? Eiback Sportlines? Eibach Pro kit? DMS? BMR's? Thanks in advance. :)

I have sportlines and thw drop couldn't look any better . I also don't have any problem driving with this 2 inch drop, as long as you don't drive dumb you'll be fine.

Why oh why would you run a 305/40R18 tire! :eek2: Way too tall. That will give you a ~27 1/2" tall tire/wheel combo - over 1" taller than stock.

As for how low. Prokit would be the absolute lowest - and IMHO I would not go that low with that big of a tire. 1" drop max.

I am running the SLP Eibachs (custom cut in the front) on my Convertible, and I fell it is perfect for looks and eliminating tire/body contact. I have the Prokit on my Berger and the rear tires are always hitting the wheel well.

Other specifics on the car, 18" x 9.5" w/ 275/35YR18 front and 18" x 10.5" w/ 295/35YR18 rear.

I'm running sportlines with 275/30/19's and am a firm believer in this set up as I love the way car drives, and looks. (And as MadIce said, as long as you don't drive like an idiot, you're okay)

BUT,
With that tall a tire, and that wide a tire, I wouldnt run anything lower then the prokit. You might want to even consider the Hotchkis set up as it's only a 1" drop.

What about me, I run 295/35/18s on back and 265/30/ZR18 on front. What would be the lowest that the experts would recommend?

Right now I have 285/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sports on all fours. I was wanting to go with that Nitto Drag Radial to get a little more grip. I take it that would be a bad idea????? So that is 2 Sportlines and 1 Prokit. I like the stance on the Sportlines a little better then the Prokit. Thanks for the inputs.... keep em coming!! :drive:

It is not all about the tire sizes. In reality any sized tire on a lowered car could cause rubbing problems (inner or outer fenders). What really matters is the wheel offsets. A 295 tire on a ZO6 wheel is tucked in so far you would never have a outer fender problem. (Inner fenders are another story all together with the ZO6 wheels) But the same 295 or even a 275 on say a Fikse wheel or a TT2 might rub the outer fender as the manufactures produces their wheels in offsets that push the wheel further out of the wheel well.

So when you ask how low can you go you must not just list a tire size but also the wheel size and offsets for the wheel experts to help you. I hope that makes sense.:eek2:

I should also mension that my wheels are perfectly even with the outer fenders of the car. I am running a 285/40/17 tire on all fours with my sportlines.

I am really starting to think of selling the TT2's for something more unique and in 18's or 19's... still deciding over that one though.
