Default Intake color poll

New engine coming LSX and the block is powder coated Chevy orange. Should I have the LS7 intake painted the same color, leave it alone or have it painted gloss black? My car is black and i have billet valve covers and a black Meziere and a semi polished 90mm TB

Will the orange intake look *** or old school

i dont think you can go wring with orange or black . i mean one is going to to match up with the block and the other your car with the meizere .

I was looking at the orange to make the engine stand out better. The intake blends in with the cowling in a black bay pretty good. What would the black base with orange pearl look like?

I think the orange might be overkill

I was thinking the same thing. It could look good....but you can't really tell until you actually do it. My vote would be gloss black.

What about the black base with a very light coat of orange pearl. So that it has a hint of orange but not be so bright

That would look sexy. Something that would make people look two or three times at it before they figure it out.

+1 gloss black, i think that would look prettysick...now you could paint your billet valve covers orange and your tb gloss black...that would look pretty sick with a gloss black intake and tb

No. Billet valve covers aren't meant to be painted.

the orange pearl will give u a slight sparkle in the black i guess you could say. its a suttle touch that wont over due it. like it was said people have to look a couple times before its noticed and thats when people really appreciate stuff.

I agree. After I had asked them to do it I thought about it and was thinking the orange intake would look to ricey in there. The block is powder coated orange nothing I can do about that but I think it will look good. (old school).

But I like the hint of pearl to slighty tint the hue on the intake, I think thats a great idea. Its times like this that you guys with SOM and red have advantages. With billet aluminum and chrome and black under the hood it almost looks black and white. Mean and clean but semi boring. Something needs to pop at you when you open the hood.

I have a clear lid that looks good, but that's an interesting thought. I had to expand the lid to make it fit the Z06 MAF, it looks ok, not great. Maybe go back to a black lid and have it worked the same. Interesting thought

no, not looking to do orange and black hi-lights. Just looking to seperate the intake from the cowling, the rest is polished or billet. Maybe leave the fuel rail black or have it chromed
