Suncoast SS hood - is the air box (ram air) worth it?
I'm thinking about maybe getting a Suncoast SS hood. I know it looks a bit different from the regular SS hood but I kinda like this.
Now I'd like to know what you guys think about getting the Suncoast air box with it, which adds $300 to the price of the hood. What's the quality and looks of the Suncoast air box? Would anyone have a photo of it? Can I really expect noticeable hp increase with ram air? (at the moment I just have a lid and a catback) Is it easy to install? I live in Belgium (it rains a lot here!), could water be a problem?

I love that hood, and so few people have it. I would get one in a heartbeat, but I hate spending money on appearance. It's like the LT1-style SS hood on an LS1-year car.
However, the airbox looks terrible, IMO. Also, there are no gains to having it. Get an SS hood for looks, not performance.

I have the Suncoast hood with the intake..its pretty much an big open (K&N) Filter that takes the air from the top of the filter instead of the bottom like a lid does (Looks alot like a LT1 FireHawk Intake...the hood has foam that seals the filter to the hood..seems to be a pretty effective setup. Not sure if its worth the 300 bucks, but as long as you keep the filter clean with the K&N recharger kit it looks great.
