Nope, people here call it a "Berger" panel because they brought it back. Chevrolet has been doing it since the 60's on most SS's.

Although I never heard of it called a "heritage" panel before. The blacked out panel was just that, a blacked out panel. My '70 Chevelle SS had it too.

No lol THANK YOU! This went from being a simple post of showing the pride & heritage of our rides (mainly camaro's, firebirds welcome, and others). But instead it's one big debate over the name lol.. Well it's understandable seeing that we all have different name's for everything! But when I lived in South FL and went to the car show, Towers, every friday night off 595 & University.. Every1 would compliment saying.. "Hey kid, I like your Heritage plate". Or Berger or blacked out panel.. w.e u want to call it, it's no argument here.. It looks bad *** period.. Thank you all, for all of your post's!!! I got to say this is one of my most successful posts... haha maybe?

P.s. Morph your White on Black looks really good!

Nice car Crazy Sweed, but it doesnt count for a heritage plate.. If your car is Black i wouldnt know the optional color.. i guess what every you prefer.. people would still get the idea.. maybe that can be a new trend? Black camaro with white panel, or red? Depending on your color preference!
