installed some HID's on a buddys t/a well after alot of thought and talking i decided to give it a shot.. the only problem is i can't STAND the look of the round housings on a T/A so stock housings it was.. by the time the kit was said and done there was only 2 wires to be cut.. everything else was plug and play.. relay and all.. hooked up to the battery post by the fuse box and a chassis ground.. anyways i'll let the pics do the talking.. the first pics are with my old ass 1.3 mp kodak.. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture002-3.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture003-3.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture005-3.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture007-2.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture013-2.jpg My truck on the left with the 10000k's and nicks car on the right with the 6000k's http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture016-1.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e5...cture017-2.jpg oh yeah date stamp is definetly off a tad.. LOL these are with his camera to show up close and light cut off.. https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...cs/HIDs002.jpg https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...cs/HIDs001.jpg https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...cs/HIDs003.jpg https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...cs/HIDs005.jpg https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...cs/HIDs004.jpg what ya'll think.. |
I like the color but that's a lot of glare. your going to have to aim those way down to not shine them too badly in everyone's eyes. Also, perfect example of higher K temp and lower light output in the pic with the 10000k and the 6000k. I like the color though. |
i want some bright ass lights! |

I guess if he aimed them down, maybe its not too bad. Unfortunetly, after you get done aiming them down to where they dont glare on other drivers, the light pattern and amount of light that goes down the road gets crappy. When I experimented with HIDs in regular housings, I had to have them aimed so low that it was hard to see. however that was just my experience with them. He should check out some E-Code housings. Like real ones not ones that just say "euro" on them. They produce a cut off more than a regular housing. I have a set on my jeep and they are fantastic with halogens. Ide like to see how the HIDs look in them...I think others have done it before. J. |
Who sells the kits? |
|
that was 10ft from the wall which is what is standard to see the cutoff.and ledgauges.com is expensive.mike could put together a kit for cheaper. |
Do you have any pics with the lights off? How hard was it to install. Prices? |
as promised everything is hidden.if u cant read the caption it says that the wires you see are for my dual electric fans.the HID wiring is hidden completely. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15.../hidden001.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15.../hidden002.jpg after we have approval the kits will be $275 shipped to your door plug and play. |
