Default T/A with Acura TL projector headlights

I figured it's time to modernize the TA a bit since GM's not going to build me a new one.

Here's the idea, Acura TL projector headlights. I think these lights look badass when illuminated. The pic i made doesn't do them justice.

It will involve some dremel work on the outboard sides to get rid of the turn signal. Also i'll build a housing out of acft grade aluminum with the proper mounting points to coincide with the 2 pivot points and to mount the upper headlight skin. The lights will still go up and down. I'm sure its going to take some time but these lights are the closest that i could find in size.

Excuse the poor photoshop, im a mechanic not an artist.

OK now for the opinions...

In your PS pic it doesnt look any thing like the TL lights and looks like complete ****. Now that I know what year TL you're talking about I think it would look pretty good if done right.

Check out the Lighting FAQ for some other projector installs:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/710357-lighting-faq.html

Check out www<dot>hidplanet<dot>com/forums/ for plenty more info on retrofits of all sorts. I'm on there with the same screen name too.

Definitely not when considering actual output. I'm a "form-follows-function" kinda person. HID projectors have a much better output than the stock sealed-beam headlights and, if done well, they can be more esthetically pleasing as well.

Here is what mine look like:

(The pic is a bit blurry, but you get the idea. Check out the Lighting FAQ for more pictures ---- notice how they compare to the stock high beam )

I need to take a picture standing further back, but basically the projectors line up vertically with the Formula fog lights and look like they belong there.

^^true. I think projectors or HIDS would look great on a Firebird and give better visibility...

I appreciate the input, looks about 50/50 right now. I'm shopping around still for the headlights and doing a little more research before i tackle this. Finishing up the project i started with the turn signal/drls and putting the lexan on my fog lights. More to come...

i def think one that actually fits would look good. have 2/3 of your headlight flat black with a lil light in the middle doesnt look right to me. and im not trying to say yours looks bad, but i think his idea with the TLs if they fit correctly could look nasty =) i say try it!

They'll still be "pop ups."

If anyone could photoshop a better pic i would appreciate it. I made that first one at work in about 10 minutes after surfing for a pic with a TA that had it's lights on.
