Default !HOLE mod...got rid of the molding holes under the hood (WS6)

This is a simple mod but I dont remember seeing it post before. To get the plugs I needed to fill on the wheel well after doing !WIRE I had to buy a bunch of extra plugs. I saw I had some that fit perfectly in the holes under the hood so I painted them SOM, cleared them and popped them in and was very pleased at the results. It really makes the underside of the hood look a lot better and is cheap and easy!

The plugs came from:
http://www.widgetco.com/hole-plugs

The ones used under the hood are 3/8 and 10mm (the holes are different sizes...or irregular at least) but you have to get $10 worth so get a mix of all of them.

you know at first I thought the mirrors under your hood were actually GLASS and you could see the engine bay through it ;-) Looks great though

What plugs did you get and where did you find them. That should get a sticky! One clean bay!

I updated the OP:

The plugs came from:
http://www.widgetco.com/hole-plugs

The ones used under the hood are 3/8 and 100 (the holes are different sizes...or irregular at least) but you have to get $10 worth so get a mix of all of them.

I also filled holes on the wheel wheels and fenders with them (painted engine bay color...and that was a job intself to have matched!):

i believe the ones in the hood are there to keep water from getting caught in there. just an fyi. and with all the detail you have in that engine bay it wouldnt be a bad idea to just fill the holes and then spray/ clear the whole engine bay. i forget where it is but there is a place online that sells gm paint (any color) in spray cans or by the gallon.

I am about 99% sure they are just holes that are there from when the fiberglass was molded. The only way water could get in is through the front nostrils and they are drains there. Anyway thats a mute point as the car NEVER ever sees rain and is actually never washed with water.

As for filling the holes and painting the engine bay...sure I could do that, but I am not doing anything to the car that would prevent it from being returned to stock very easy. Anything that is chromed or painted I use parts off another car for and save mine. Its a very low mile SOM car and will most likely be more desiable in the future in stock form than it would modded.

although i understand this you just cut 3 holes in the factory sheetmetal. so basicly you already blew that out the window. it would be easier to "unclear" an engine bay then to patch the holes you just cut. imo i wouldnt worry about clearing the bay. it will make it look much better and isnt going to devalue the car anymore then the holes you just cut out. just my .02.

The factory sheet metal on the back side of the inner fender. Plus I kept the plugs I cut out so with a little spot weld and some bondo (on the back side of the inner fender) no one would ever know anyway. At any rate I debated the hell out of doing that before I did but the benifit was worth the "cost". The clearing isnt the issue...it was the "filling" of the holes that you suggested...you can't "unfill" them very easy. Thats the purpose of the plugs...a reversable way of filling them. At anyrate I have been thinking of clearing the fenders so I might eventually anyway....I am not sure.

Yeah, your post is where I got the link to the plugs from. But in the OP I was reffering to filling the holes on the underside of the WS6 hood. I have never seen it done before and it makes it look a lot cleaner.
