Default LSx Photoshoot: '99 Trans Am and '06 GTO

On the way to the first local cruise in of the year my buddy and I decided to pull over for a second to snap a few impromptu shots of the cars together.

I wanted a few shots of the cars together with both cleaned up, and also wanted show the difference between the reds. His car used to be my car and I sold it to him to buy my GTO. His car is the factory PPG Bright Red. My GTO is the factory Spice Red Metallic.

Overcast lighting doesn't do much justice to Spice Red in pictures, it loses its "pop," but these shots still show the difference between a brighter shade of red and Spice Red (although in sunlight Spice Red is much brighter as past photos have shown). That is one thing I really like about Spice, it's dynamic change in different lighting. At night it's a completely different shade as well. The pictures below from a previous sunny day shoot show a good comparison between the different shades you get from Spice compared to the overcast shots above.

Before the shoot I cleaned the GTO up with Zaino Z7 wash, Zaino Z2 Pro polish/sealant, and topped the car off with Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer (first time using this, so far I like it and looking forward to seeing it's hydrophobic properties it claims as Zaino is not hydrophobic). Wheels were polished with Noxon 7 to abrasively remove the crud, then hit with Mother's Ultimate Billet Polish to bring out the shine. They were then protected with a coat of Rejex, then a coat of Zaino Clear Seal, a coat of Zaino Z2 Pro, and finally hit with Michelin's Brake Dust Repellent spray (every little bit helps with these wheels). The Trans Am was cleaned with Meguiar's Gold Class wash quickly and quick detailed with Duragloss' quick detailer (recently polished/sealed with Zaino ZAIO).

Beautiful shines. The GTO looks good against the building with the red trim. How much did all that Zaino stuff cost?

Thanks fellas. Much appreciated.

The Zaino wasn't too bad, but I've been collecting the stuff over the past 7 years or so. I don't even remember how much I have in it. Since I don't daily drive the GTO anymore I want to get some high quality carnuba to really bring some depth and make the metallic pop (looking into Pinnacle Souveran).

bad95, still haven't gotten a Vette to shoot. I really need to work on that. I think I could produce some pretty nice shots with those sexy lines to work with.

And to think, for a short period of time after I bought the GTO I still had the Trans Am too before my buddy bought it. There was probably a two week overlap there, so for a short while I owned both at the same time. I loved seeing that every time I walked outside. The two cars do look good together. Thanks a ton guys. I really appreciate all the comments.

Badass pics as always. I may need to bring my car up there for you to shoot it. I also need to get my wheels to look that good.
