Fine steel wool will clean them up pretty good.

Steel wool won't hurt them. A couple of guys from our car club use steel wool and comet cleaning powder. The results looked good.

I have used metal polish and some elbow grease. If you get it done once, just do a little monthly maintenance on them and they'll be easy to keep clean.

I would definitely give the metal polish a try. Mine were really bad last year and it took me a while to make them shine, but now they look brand new.

i'm interested in the replies to this as I have to give my tips a good cleaning also. they're clean now, but no where near where I want them. I'm guessing if we could get a mini powerball to fit in the small area that would work better? hmm

I been using meguiars hot rims with a powerball on corsa clones and they shine nice.
