I'm sure this won't be a popular addition, but here goes. Because my tires stick out a bit to the side of the rear bumper, I was always getting splash marks all up the side of the quarter panel. So borrowing the idea from the C6 Z06 Corvettes, I mounted up some mudflaps, but kept them as low profile as possible. Instead of mounting them like they're supposed to (way out and down from the body), I kept enough out of to the side while keeping it flush at the bottom. I'm not too concerned with getting splashes under the car, just on the sides and after driving through some puddles, it seems to be working as planned.

Here's how they're supposed to go on (borrowed from BlackWS6LS1) and how I have them:

Does it work? It looks like the rain, mud etc... would still splash back because of the length of the rear sides. Trust me I feel your pain I love my 315's but I have more rock chips and crap all over the rear side because of them.

I'd love 'em if they flowed into the body a bit more, its just kinda a sudden jolt out from the body for a tiny little piece.

i use a set of cheap-o flaps in the rear only when racing. plain black, with PONTIAC and an arrowhead in white. helps when driving on slicks. im talking road racing, not drag.

They don't look too bad, but I would never put them on my car again. Had some on when I bought it and they didn't work for ****. My passenger side fender has a bunch of rock & debris scratches from when the mudflaps were on. Took them off a few months ago and don't have the problem anymore.

I've actually etched quite a bit of clearcoat because my 315s fling rocks and sand all over the bottom of the bumper and I have thought about doing the same thing. Did you use any particular mudflap and was it easy to tack them on?

if that was directed to me, i just drilled out 3 holes through the flap and part of the bumper where it attaches. i use 1/4in. bolts and nuts to hold it on, not the self-tappers they give you. this way its easily removable without stripping anything.
