I never weighed mine but it is fiber glass. It also looks pretty well designed (read fairly heavy).
It will be extremely hard to get a Hawk hood though, if it does turn out to be the lightest.

I already have a line on a hawk hood but I am deciding if it is worth it to pick it up. If it saves me 15-20 pounds I will do it. I like the heat extractors and using the ram air portion for engine bay cooling only.
Cheers,
Chris

If the price is reasonable, buy it anyways. You can always get good money for it later <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">
I'm thinking about ditching my FTRA set up as it makes the car run too hot, and making a Brian Greene style ram air off the hood. IMO the hood needs to be cut up some in order to make the heat extractors do any real work.
I'll try to talk Harlan into pulling his and wheighing it when we pull his engine.

No, it will not, you have to get the nose too, cause as you said, SLP "trims" them.. You would have about and inch or more of overlap.

Chris, check out these guys. It looks like they make some carbon fiber hoods among other things for our cars.
