It looks VERY good. the body line is still there, just without the molding. I removed the section between my two vents on the front part, looks cleaner now. I would remove all of them, but I don't have a garage to park in and will just get more door dings.

I think I saw a white TA back in the day on LS1.com with no moldings (Warbird or Warpig...the guy with the traction control free mod that SLP copied) and I thought it looked cool. anyone think the "Trans Am" on the door look alright, or would the door look cleaner plain?

Not another red formula ram air!..LOL..JK!

I removed my molding also and kind of thought about removing the formula emblems later.

I like the FM5s just a little better <img src="images/icons/tongue.gif" border="0">

Also, a buddy of ine with a black 99 WS6 TA removed his molding, TA emblems and even has his door handles shaved...can you say SMOOOOOTH!

Ah, the red Formula thread.

I took off my Formula badges but I left the molding on for now to protect against door dings.

I don't have a TA, but I took my side molding and the badges off the ol' Z28 - and I think it gives the car a cleaner look.

Go to www.carlblackperformance.com , look at the Blackbird pics, they have some good ones from the side. I just took mine off <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> and what an appearance difference that makes! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />

Whats the best way to remove the moldings? I was thinking about a heatgun to make the glue backing softer? Would that hurt the paint at all? Any better ways?

Re: Pics of TA's without side molding?

I still have the molding on my RED Formula, but I recently removed the moldings off my 99 Tahoe.

I used a heat lamp, had it a foot from the molding. This was a professional body shop lamp.

After about 15 minutes I was able to peel off the molding. Paint is unaffected.

I then had to clean off some glue residue.

Not only does removing body side molding shed weight but it increases aerodynamics and pimpness <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Pics of TA's without side molding?

How did you all go about removing the side moldings without scratching or leaving behind any 3M?
