How far on the Spare?

How far on the Spare? How far do you think I can make it on the spare tire (donut)? I am stuck in VA. and need to get back to NJ today. Can I make the 350 miles if I behave myself <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Re: How far on the Spare? I know the feeling. I had to drive on my donut for 5 days to and from work which made it about 60 miles a day because nobody had replacement tires in stock. As long as you keep your speed down, the tire will stay cool enough to last. I would drive it like a granny would just to be safe. note: if you have GoodYear F1's, I would go with the BFGoodrich G-Force. I have noticed a little better performance from theses tires...and tey are a little cheaper on your wallet... <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

Re: How far on the Spare? Thanks... turns out that I was able to find a place in VA. that could put on the dunlop 8000. They were in stock and he gave me a great deal (I think) They were 119 each, 55 for alignment, 5 for balancing. So the whole bill came to about 550. Plus they finished the job before noon so I could get on the road. They have 5 stores in the richmond area and I can't remember the name of the place... I have the receipt at home if somebody is interested.
I drove the whole way home (380 miles) in the rain last night and I have to say I am very pleased with these tires... It wasn't a very heavy rain but they handled very well in the puddles, etc. I would definately say better than the F1's that I had.
